Sociologist Manayeu "an absolute traitor": Shushkevich (video)
Stanislau Shushkevich calls doctor of sociology Aleh Manayeu a traitor during the East European Conference in Warsaw.
The first leader of the independent Belarus Stanislau Shushkevich characterized the founder of the Independent Institute for Socio-Economic and Political Studies Aleh Manayeu in a highly negative way.
Shushkevich: "As for certain sociologists, I would put it clear that Manayeu is a traitor. He knows it perfectly well that there cannot be any sociology in the conditions of the dictatorship. So, when he needs to please the dictator, he says on the next day after the elections that 52-53% Belarusians supported Lukashenka. And this is at the time when Sannikau stays under arrest. This is in fact falsification, but it is beneficial for him and he can work in the Belarusian university now. Previously, he was an opposition member and was afraid to enter the country. Traitors have good conditions here. Absolute traitors, like Manayeu, I am sorry but I must say this. Other people were about to betray us but we saved them somehow."
The traditional East European Conference is held in Warsaw for the 10th time. On the first day of the event, on July 15, leaders of the Belarusian opposition Alyaksandr Milinkevich, Andrei Sannikau and Stanislau Shushkevich participated in the round-table dedicated to the current situation in Belarus. The conference will finish its work on July 18.
