Belarus handball team defeats Iceland (video)
A selection match of the European Championship-2014 was played in Minsk Palace of Sport on Wednesday.
Iceland has already won the right to play in the championship in Denmark. Belarus and Slovenia are competing for this right now.
The Icelandic team brought a weaker roster to Minsk. Belarusians easily won –29:23. They won without their leader, Barcelona player Syarhei Rutenka (in the photo) who had a trauma.
However, Slovenians suddenly defeated Romania– 31-22. That is why everything will be decided on Sunday, June 16. The Slovenia-Belarus match will be played in Lyublyana at 7 p.m. EEST. It will be broadcast live on Belarus-1.
Iceland is the leader with 8 points now. Belarus has 7 points, Slovenia – 5 and Romania has no points.
