Dozens detained after action against gay marriages in Paris
Disturbances started after the action of protest against gay marriages in the French capital.
The action was initiated by activists of the ultra-right radical movements, RBC reports with a reference to the sources in France. According to eye-witnesses, 200-300 people took part in the disturbances, they lit fusees, threw stones and bottles. Journalists also became the hooligans' victims, including a France Press photographer.
The police detained 96 people, 39 of them spent the night in custody.
Besides, the organizers and the police say different numbers of the participants of the action against legalization of gay marriages. The organizers claim there were more than a million people, the police confirm "only" 150 thousand.
On May 18, President of France François Hollande ratified the law on gay marriages. France became the 14th country in the world where such marriages were legal.
