282 Belarusian political prisoners are behind bars in a situation of particular risk. 81 of them are in serious health condition, according to human rights activists.

Among the mentioned political prisoners there are 35 elderly people, over 60 years old (many of them also have serious health problems). The oldest of the political prisoners is 76-year-old Mikhail Liapeika from Mahiliou, who was sent to a psychiatric hospital for compulsory treatment for "insulting Lukashenka".

The list also includes 30 mothers and fathers of many children, 8 people with disabilities, 12 people with mental disorders. At least 10 families are known to have both parents behind bars.

There are more than 1,200 political prisoners in Belarus. Last week 23 political prisoners were released.
