The number of Muslim and Christians will be equal by 2050. Christianity is the leading religion in the world now but the situation will change in the next few decades. The number of Christians will increase by 35% and reach 2.92 billion people while the number of Muslims will increase by 73% (to 2.76 billions). The numbers have been provided by the research centre Pew, BBC reports. 10% of Europeans will be Muslims.
Islam will be the dominant world religion at the beginning of the 22nd century. The number of atheists will be decreasing.
