Aryna Sabalenka has received a British visa and will participate in Wimbledon this year. She said so at a press conference in Paris after losing in the semifinals of Roland Garros. "I have a visa! It is something worth celebrating. I'm going to Wimbledon and it's great news," Sabalenka said.

In May it emerged that Aryna Sabalenka had not yet been granted a British visa.

The Wimbledon tournament is one of the biggest tennis competitions in the world. This year's tournament will be held from July 3 to 16. Last year, the organizers of the tournament barred athletes from Belarus and Russia from participating in the tournament. This year, the Belarusians and Russians were admitted to the compatition on the condition that they remain neutral and make no statements in support of the war or the regime that is waging it.

In France, Sabalenka finally declared: "I do not support the war, that is, I do not currently support Lukashenka."
