Belarus trying to unblock potash fertilizers supplies to India

Belarusian Embassy in Dehli is trying to find ways to resume potash fertilizers supplies to India, Belarusian Ambassador to India Andrei Rzheuski said in a STV broadcast.
"The prospect of supplying potash fertilizers is very relevant. The embassy is also working on unblocking the supplies of potash fertilizers to India, because it has impact on the price not only in India but across the region," he stressed. The envoy did not elaborate on what steps the embassy was taking and if there was any dynamics in solving this issue.
Last week, Aliaksandr Lukashenka ordered his foreign ministry to come up with a concrete plan of work with India. The document must be ready by not later than the first quarter of 2024. "We don't need tourism trips. We need solutions for concrete problems," Lukashenka said.
After the start of war in Ukraine in February 2022, India replaced amid sanctions the Belarusian fertilizers with potash from Canada. As a result, the exports of Belarusian potash to India in January-November 2022 dropped 55% against the same period in 2021.
